N2Dirt is a Grass-Roots volunteer based 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation whose purpose is simple, keep access to our public lands open through promoting safe and responsible use.
Adopted by CORVA, California Off-Road Vehicle Association, as an awareness, educational and informational program, N2Dirt is helping keep access to our public lands from being closed. N2Dirt will be teaching people how their actions can change the continued access to our public lands. The N2Dirt logo is an icon to all that care about how and where we ride, "Here to Ride — Ride to Stay".
Mission Statement
To promote and teach safe and responsible outdoor recreation for all who use our public lands.
Purpose
To keep access to our public lands open through safe and responsible use.
We are losing more trails and recreational areas than we are gaining due to inconsiderate use and environmental concerns. Our continued use of these lands is in our hands and those that we recreate with. Our actions will impact the future use of these lands.
As the popularity of Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) recreation continues to grow, and the amount of trails and recreational areas decrease, the demands upon the remaining areas are more concentrated and in higher demand. We can make the difference by teaching, setting the example and increasing the awareness of those that can spoil it for all.
Although N2Dirt focuses mainly on motorized forms of outdoor recreation, it is important to work with all users of our public lands. Sharing the trails is vital to the future of all that recreate upon our public lands.
The N2Dirt "Code"
- Keep within the rules of the area you are riding. Requirements are different from area to area.
- Stay on desentated trails and do not cut trail corners or cross into sensitive areas.
- Show respect for public and private property. Slow down and reduce noise and dust when near campsites or residences.
- Use proper trail etiquette and respect the rights of other recreationalists.
- Avoid wildlife, livestock and sensitive or protected areas.
- Share the trails with all other types of recreation. When encountering someone on horseback, pull off the trail, stop your engine and remove your helmet.
- Be environmentally polite. Don't give anyone a reason to look down on our sport. It does not slow you down or make things less fun to keep an eye out for environmental awareness.
- Pack It In, Pack It Out, Do Not Litter.
- Don't ride under the influence. It is not only the law, but it is the smart way to ride.
- Maintain your vehicle, keep sound levels within required limits. Do not pollute, keep fuels, oils and coolants off the land and watersheds.
- Wear safety gear. Accidents always seem to happen when you don't wear all of your gear. Don't take a chance.
- Avoid abandoned mineshafts. Stay Out — Stay Alive.
- Set the example for others. When you're out OHVing, display the N2Dirt logo and be a good example for others to follow.
